To create awareness about drugs and road safety in Coimbatore, Commissioner of Police Balakrishnan and Tamil Nadu cricketers Sadagoppan Ramesh and Sai Sudharsan presented prizes to the winning teams of the police-public relations cricket tournament.
Coimbatore: Cash prizes were presented to the winning teams of the Police-Public Relations Cricket Tournament held in Coimbatore.
For the past two weeks, Coimbatore City Police, Kumaraguru Institution, and Sparkling Stars have jointly organized the Public and Police Awareness Cricket Festival (CCP CUP SEASON-2) to create awareness about drugs and road safety.
In total, 16 police teams and 32 teams from the general public took part in the event. This cricket festival's finals and prize distribution ceremony were held today at the PSG Medical College ground, presided over by Police Commissioner Balakrishnan.

Cricketers Sadagoppan Ramesh and Sai Sudharsan were the special guests. It was also attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police North Sandeesh and a large number of police personnel and the general public.
The Police Commissioner's team won first place, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police North team won second place.
In the public team ABT, the Maruti team won the first prize of Rs 25,000, future stars team, the second prize was Rs 15,000, the Impulse team received the third prize of Rs 7,000 and the GCT team received the fourth prize of Rs 3,000.

In the women's cricket tournament, the Kaapvaal team won first place and Rs 6,000, while Sri Krishna Arts and Science College won second place and Rs 4,000.

Police Commissioner and special guests gave away prizes to the winners and addressed the issue of drug abuse and road safety awareness.

Earlier, a signature campaign against drugs was held.
