Coimbatore City Police to host Doubles Badminton Tournament in a unique initiative to foster public-friendly relations

The Coimbatore City Police is organising the tournament to create awareness on the importance of wearing helmets and drug prevention.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police, in association with Sparkling Starz, will host a doubles badminton tournament for both men and women on January 7 to create awareness about the importance of wearing helmets and drug prevention.

Coimbatore City Police, in association with a group called Sparkling Starz, will be conducting the badminton series separately for men and women in doubles. It will be held in order to establish a cordial relationship between the police and the public. Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, V Balakrishnan released the introductory advertisement for the badminton tournament at the City Police Commissioner's office on Thursday.



A first prize of Rs.7,000, a second prize of Rs.4,000 and a third prize of Rs.2,000 will be awarded to the winners of the tournament. For more information, those wishing to participate can contact 8838914505 and 9952123414, including bookings. January 5 is the last date for entries.

In an attempt to strengthen the link between the police and the public, the Coimbatore City Police recently conducted a cricket match called CCP which was well received by the people.
