Coimbatore: The Silver Jubilee Team of Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Texcity organized an open athletics meet 'Aatam' at Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore, on April 2.
The event was inaugurated by Rtn. C G Kumar - District Rotaract Committee Chair, Rtr. Ajai S - Past District Rotaract Representative and Ravichandran - District Sports Office, Coimbatore. The athletic meet was held to mark the silver jubilee year and is expected to be the flagship event of the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Texcity, every year.
Over 350 athletes from 20 districts across Tamil Nadu participated in various events like 100m, 200m 400m, 4x100m Relay, 110m Hurdles, Shot Put, Long Jump and High Jump. The overall trophy for both men and women athletes was won by the Tamil Nadu Police, and the Overall Champions Trophy was also won by the Tamil Nadu Police team.
Rtr. Keerthi Vivek - DRR and Rtr. Kishore Babu - DRR Elect were also present at the event. The organizing team included Rtr. Varalakshmi - President, Rtr. Neha Nixon - Event Chair, Rtr. Arjun - Event Secretary, Rtr. Shafiullah, Rtr. Kishore, Rtr. Sanjula, Rtr. Jaiseelan and Rtr. Thanghapantieyaan.
