The Kabaddi squad from Karpagam University brought home the trophy from the state-level Kabaddi Tournament held in Pudukottai.
Coimbatore: Karpagam University’s Kabaddi Team has won the state level Kabaddi Tournament held in Pudukottai.
The state level Kabaddi competition was held on the 5th and 6th of February at Vadipatti in Pudukottai district. More than 70 teams from different districts from across Tamil Nadu participated in the 70 kg category.
Karpagam University from Coimbatore faced the Anda Kulam Sports Club in the quarter-finals and qualified beating them with 20-17 points. In the semi-finals, Karpagam University boys took on the Periya Kuruvampatti Trichy team and won the semi-finals against them to enter into the finale with 35 to 14 points, to face Vadhiripatti, Pudukkotai team.
Karpagam University won the final face-off against Vadripatti Pudukottai team in which the Karpagam University team played brilliant knock to score of 54-21, to bag the trophy.
Karpagam University administration, Registrar Dr. Palani Swamy and Director of Physical Education Dr. Sudhakar, Coach Govindraj and others greeted the winners.
