City's budding cricketer in dire need of funds to represent Tamil Nadu in Tennis Cricket Championship in Madhya Pradesh from Sep 2-4

With the first match scheduled on September 2, Naveen has been requesting sponsorship since his family is not in a position to support him financially.

Coimbatore: The biggest hurdle for most talented young sportsmen in India, especially from smaller cities like Coimbatore, is the lack of funds to back their talent.

Coimbatore-based cricketer, Naveen who hails from Karamadai is still hopeful of being funded to join his team in the National Tennis Cricket Championships to be held in Madhya Pradesh from September 2 to 4, hosted by the Tennis Cricket Association of India. Naveen, who is mainly a bowler but also an all-rounder is in need of Rs. 8000.

With the first match scheduled on September 2, Naveen has been requesting funds since his family is not in a position to support him financially being in the real estate business.

“We should be in Madhya Pradesh on September 1. For this, I have to take the train leaving Coimbatore at 6 on August 31. If someone provides financial assistance, I will have the opportunity to participate in the cricket tournament on behalf of Tamil Nadu,” requested Naveen.

Since the Tennis Cricket Association does not get enough sponsors, talented players find it tough to participate in competitions.

Those wishing to help Naveen, contact 70108 62469 to provide funds.
