The soccer academy First Kick School of Soccer was started in 2013 and has been training hundreds of young boys for top quality football with a very well structured coaching regimen and benefit from consistent participation in tournaments, both in India and abroad. Constant value additions to training and regular upgradation of training methods to match International standards have had a direct and very significant positive impact on their students. First Kick is one of the Indian League teams trained under guidance of Ronnie Shetty.
Speaking about this effort in creating a high quality natural grass football ground, co-founder Preethi Lakshmi said "It is a dream come true, to have a professional ground, enabling children to develop their skills. All this has been possible only because of the faith parents have reposed in our academy, the diligent efforts of our students, the passionate approach ofour coaches and staff, and most importantly, the generous benevolence of our sponsors".
The academy is also sponsoring the education of many young boys who are undergoing training there.Some of the students who received financial aid from the academy have gone on to be recruited by top football clubs in the country.The academy provides accommodation, food and takes care of their education expenses.

This ground is the result of a passionate couple who have put their life and soul into creating this from modest background. This facility is sure to expose more Coimbatore kids to the vagaries of international football from right here in the city. Earlier kids had to travel to other cities to get this kind of exposure and training.
