Coimbatore: Sri GVG Visalakshi College for Women from Udumelpet has lifted the 'Shreshtha Senior 2020 trophy', a district level inter-college throwball tournament held at Sri Ramakrishna New Ladies Hostel in the city on Friday.
Coimbatore: Sri GVG Visalakshi College for Women from Udumelpet has lifted the 'Shreshtha Senior 2020 trophy', a district level inter-college throwball tournament held at Sri Ramakrishna New Ladies Hostel in the city on Friday.
Organised by the Department of Physical Education at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women, the one-day tournament had as many as 12 teams from various colleges who vied for the trophy.
The tournament was conducted under knockout basis in which Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women, Sri GVG Visalakshi College for Women and Pioneer College of Arts and Science entered into the semi-finals of the tournament.
In the finals, the strong contenders of the tournament were the girls from Udumalpet who played against the home team Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women and defeated them by 2-0 to claim the trophy.
Similarly in the losers finals, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science defeated Pioneer College of Arts and Science to secure third place in the tournament.
Dr K Chitra, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women along with the Physical Director, Joicy distributed the trophies and certificates to the winners of the tournament.
