Coimbatore: Sri Krishna College of Technology (SKCT) has emerged champions of Covai TIES, a district level inter engineering college table Tennis tournament held at RVS College of Engineering and Technology recently.
Covai TIES is an inter engineering college sports meet for engineering colleges in the city. As part of the ongoing, Covai TIES sports event,Table Tennis tournament for men was held at RVS College of Engineering and Technology.
As many as 21 engineering college teams took part in the tournament in which SKCT, Kovaipudur claimed the title.
SKCT defeated Nehru College of Engineering and Technology by 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the tournament to enter semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the champions reigned over Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology by 2-1 to book their spot in finals.
In the finals, SKCT sealed 2-1 win over Karpagam College of Engineering to lift the trophy.
Nithish Babu M, Sherwin Daniel A, Rohith Shyam S, Sivaranjan M and Ram Kumar were the players who represented SKCT at the Covai TIES Table Tennis tournament.
SKCT's Managing Trustee, S Malarvizhi, Dr K Sundararaman, CEO, Dr Srinivasa Alavandar, Principal and Mariselvam, Director of Physical Education department congratulated the winners.
