Coimbatore: Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) emerged winners of the 11th CENTIES (Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgiris and Tirupur inter engineering sports) Kho Kho tournament hosted by SNS College of Technology in the city on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) emerged winners of the 11th CENTIES (Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgiris and Tirupur inter engineering sports) Kho Kho tournament hosted by SNS College of Technology in the city on Wednesday.
SNS College Of Technology (SNS CT), Vazhiyampalayam hosted the Kho Kho in which 13 teams from the region competed for the trophy. The tournament was conducted under knockout basis in which the host SNS CT, CIT, Kongu Engineering college and Kalaignar Karunanithi Institute of Technology qualified into semi-finals.
In the first semi-finals between SNS CT and CIT, the latter sealed victory over the host by 7 points to get into finals, while in the second semi-finals, Kongu engineering college, Erode found an easy way to enter finals as they defeated Kalaignar Karunanithi Institute of Technology by 12-5.
In the finals of the tournament, CIT clinched a close victory by 2 points over Kongu Engineering College to emerge champions of the tournament. The third and fourth place of the tournament were secured by SNS College of Technology and Kalaignar Karunanithi Institute of Technology respectively.
Dr S Senthurapandian, Principal of SNS CT distributed the trophies and certificates to the winners.
