Coimbatore: PSG College of Technology has emerged champions of the 11th CENTIES football tournament by defeating Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology by 1:0 in the finals at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology held on Monday.
Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalan hosted the 11th edition of CENTIES (Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgiris, Tirupur inter engineering sports meet) at their college premises.
Around 18 teams from various engineering colleges in the region took part in the knockout tournament held at the college football ground. Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology and PSG College of Technology were the top three teams in the tournament.
PSG Tech played against Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology and defeated them in a tiebreaker by 4:2 after the match was tied at 2:2 in the full time.
In the finals, boys from PSG Tech sealed Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology by 1:0 to lift the trophy.
Trophies and certificates were presented to the winners of the tournament.
