Coimbatore: Sri Krishna Arts and Science College (SKASC) has emerged winners of the State level inter-college cricket tournament held for "2nd SKASC Trophy".
Coimbatore: Sri Krishna Arts and Science College (SKASC) has emerged winners of the State level inter-college cricket tournament held for "2nd SKASC Trophy".
SKASC defeated SNMV College of Arts and Science by 92 runs in the finals on Friday.
The event organised by the Department of Physical education of SKASC was kick-started on February 3, 2020 at the college grounds. Dr P Baby Shakila, Principal of SKASC inaugurated the tournament.
Around 40 teams from various colleges across Tamil Nadu took part in the tournament organized under knockout basis.
In the finals held today, the host SKASC won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 201 for 5 in 20 overs with Venkata Krishna scoring 68 for his side and Hariharan adding another 44 runs to the team total.
In return, SNMV who batted second were able to score only 109 for 9 in 20 overs after bowlers Ragu and Venkata Krishna from SKASC shared 5 wickets between them and restricted the opponents from scoring runs.
With a difference of 92 runs, SKASC lifted the trophy. The third place was secured by Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology.
Principal of SKASC along with Dr C Kumaresan, Director of Physical education presented the trophies and certificates to the winners.
