Coimbatore: CMS Vidya Mandir Matriculation Higher Secondary School is organising a mini-marathon against child abuse on February 23, in the city.
Themed 'Run against Child abuse', the organising committee has planned to conduct this mini-marathon under four categories- 2Km run for kids with parents, 5km run for school boys and girls and 10 km run for men and women.

T A Venugopal, Chairman of CMS said in a press meet, "In order to create awareness against increasing child abuse, we are organising this mini-marathon to sensitise people. L Balaji Saravanan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and order will flag off the marathon which kick starts from CMS Vidya Mandir, Manikaranpalayam and end at the starting point going through Nallampalayam, Kannappanagar, Sanganoor and Surya Hospital."
He informed that we are expecting around 2500 participants from various part of the country. All participants will be provided with breakfast and t-shirts. Cash prizes worth Rs 70000 will be presented to the winners in various categories of the marathon and certificates and medal to be presented to all the participants taking part in the marathon.
