Coimbatore: State Level Inter College Cricket tournament for '2nd Sri Krishna Arts and Science College Trophy' by the department of Physical education kicked off in the college grounds on Monday.
Coimbatore: State Level Inter College Cricket tournament for '2nd Sri Krishna Arts and Science College Trophy' by the department of Physical education kicked off in the college grounds on Monday.
Nearly 40 college teams from various part of Tamil Nadu are taking part in the tournament which is being organised under knockout basis. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr P Baby Shakila, Principal of SKASC.
In the inauguration match of the tournament, Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET) and Nehru Institute of Technology played their first match in which CIET won the match convincingly by 9 wickets.
Batting first, Nehru IT has scored 115 runs in their 20 overs. Vishvanth of CIET scalped 4 wickets for his side. In reply, they chased down the target very easily at 14th over for the loss of one wicket.
Similarly in the second match between, Karpagam Institute of Technology and United Institute of Technology, UIT clinched victory by 51 runs.
Scores: Nehru IT 115/8 in 20 overs (Vishvanth 4/21) lost to CIET 116/1 in 13.2 overs (Abishek 52).
United Institute of Technology 169/8 in 20 overs (Arun Kumar 60, Jagadeesh 3/37) beat Karpagam IT 118/10 in 18.2 overs (Sandosh 3/22).
