Right from the start, both the teams were testing the opponents' defence, until, whistle. Chennai City FC's Katsumi Yusa created a chance for his team but Mohun Bagan's goalkeeper VP Suhair contained well.
In the 28th minute of the game, Papa Diawara delivered it for the visitors as the corner from Joseba Beitia found Diawara who intelligently put the ball into the nets and the visitors did not take much time for their second goal. They scored their second goal in less than a minute to take up the lead to 2-0. At the half time, Mohun Bagan dominated the game by 2-0.
The visitors were charged up and scored their third very early after the half time. At the 49th minute, Diawara used the chances to find the nets. And the task was huge for CCFC, as they conceded by 3 goals so far.
In the 65th minute of the game, the substitute Vijay Nagappan opened the account for the defending champions as he struck from almost 25 yards out and the short was perfectly targeted towards the nets. Within a couple of minutes, Chennai City produced another goal as Jishnu Balakrishnan, tried a long-distance shot which fortunately went into the nets.
After two quick goals, Chennai City FC tried their best to equalize the scores but the visitors defended perfectly to win their 7th game in the season to stay safe at the top of the table.
