Coimbatore: K Karthik Rahul's exemplary bowling spell of 7 for 8 runs in the finals helped Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School to claim trophy, in the CDCA Under 14 years boys inter School Cricket Tournament for 'Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis Trophy' held at PSG medical college ground, on Friday.
CDCA has been organising district level inter School cricket tournament for Under 14 boys from Monday at PSG medical college grounds in which Sri Ramakrishna MHSS, Satchidananda MHSS, RKS Kalvinilayam HSS and Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidhyalaya MHSS qualified to the semi-finals.
In the finals held on Friday, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya and Sri Ramakrishna MHSS clashed for the trophy in which batting first, Sri Ramakrishna MHSS were all out for 158 in 45.1 overs. Defending 158 runs, Karthik Ragul bowled a match-winning spell and scalped seven wickets to take home the Trophy.
Scores: Sri Ramakrishna M.H.S.S 158 in 45.1 overs (M. Nadeer 55, N. Abhinav Krishna 4/33) defeated Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidhalaya M.H.S.S 62 in 35.4 overs (K. Karthik Rahul 7/8).
