Coimbatore: PSG College of Arts and Science in the city is hosting a state-level inter-college invitational volleyball tournament in the college campus from Tuesday.
Coimbatore: PSG College of Arts and Science in the city is hosting a state-level inter-college invitational volleyball tournament in the college campus from Tuesday.
The tournament was inaugurated by Dr D Brindha, Principal of PSG College of Arts and Science along with B Navaneethan, Physical Director and R Soundararajan, Assistant Physical Director.
Top eight volleyball teams in the State are taking part in the three-day tournament conducted under knockout and league basis. The first round of the tournament was conducted under knockout basis and the qualified 4 teams are playing under league basis, today.
The first match was played between the host PSG CAS and Sri Krishna College in which the host defeated Sri Krishna by 3-0 (25-11, 25-8 and 25-7). While in the second match, Jamal Mohamed College Tiruchirappalli thrashed Kongu Arts College by 3-0. (23-25, 17-25 and 21-15).
In the third and fourth match of the tournament, DB Jain College and DG Vaishnav college from Chennai emerged victorious to enter semi-finals of the tournament which is to be conducted under league basis. Each team will play three matches and the team with highest points will lift the prestigious PSG Trophy.
