Coimbatore students from various educational institutions are marking their presence at the 65th National School games by bagging several medals in various competitions.
As part of the ongoing National School Games by School Games Federation of India (SGFI), Chess Championship was conducted at Narayanapuram, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, in which R Harsha from the city represented team Tamil Nadu in Under-19 years girls category.

In the finals, Team Tamil Nadu missed the title by a very short margin as they drew with Andhra Pradesh in the final round. And, Harsha from Coimbatore played a big part in securing silver medal in the overall championship.
Tamil Nadu defeated Madhya Pradesh, Telangana Gujarat and CISCE (The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations) to bag silver in the competition.
Management of Vidhya Niketan School and coaches congratulated Harsha for her effort at the National School games.
