After winning its opening game against Tiruchirappalli district on Tuesday, the host carried their winning momentum to seal Kanyakumari on Wednesday.
Batting first, Coimbatore District with S Sujay's top-quality batting of 46 runs posted 163 runs on board. While defending, Coimbatore bowlers kept their basics right and bowled right length and line.
W Antony Dhas's short cameo of 40 runs did not help Kanyakumari, as Sujay struck at the right time to dismiss Antony Dhas. Coimbatore Claimed its second win as they restricted the opponent for 133 in 20 overs, thus registering a 30 run victory in the second match of the first round.
In yet another match, Cuddalore district defeated Tiruvannamalai district by 34 runs to register their first win of the tournament.
