Coimbatore: The host Coimbatore has started the season on a winning note as they registered a comfortable 6 wickets win over Tiruchirappalli district in the TNCA Inter-district Cricket Tournament for senior men held at Sri Ramakrishna Institutions ground on Tuesday.

Coimbatore District Cricket Association (CDCA) is hosting the first round of Senior Inter Districts Tournament at Sri Ramakrishna Institutions ground and PSG Medical college ground in the city from January 21-25.
In the first match held today, Coimbatore faced Tiruchirappalli in which the visitors batted first. From the begining, Coimbatore bowlers were on the top taking over the control of the game, by restricting Trichy for 101 runs.
Though Coimbatore lost its openers early, an experienced Sujay S and K Manibharathi played the anchor role and shared 82 runs between them to start the tournament in a victorious way.
Similarly in the second match held in the noon session, Kanyakumari defeated Cuddalore by 6 wickets to start their season successful.
