Coimbatore: Featuring over 175 students across the State, the State level non Ranking Tennis tournament for 'Rising Star Trophy' organised by Levo Sports was inaugurated the city on Sunday.
The tournament was conducted under the knockout basis for various age categories from under 8 to under 16 years of age and Men singles. The weekend tournament saw as many as 175 players around Tamil Nadu.
Winners of various categories: Red ball Mini Court, Naren Mithren defeated Muhunth by 15-5 in the finals while in under 10 years category, Skandhanithi emerged victorious by sealing Mithravinda by 6-1 in the finals.
In the under 12 years category, Gowtham defeated Skanthanithi by 6-3 to lift the trophy and Siva Guru claimed a 6-2 win over to emerge champion in under 14 years category.
In under 16 years category, Jaicharan defeated Maya by 6-3 in the finals to lift the Trophy in U16 years category while Aravinth claimed the title in men's singles final as he defeated Stephen Raj by 6-1. In men's doubles finals, Andy and Ponnusamy Sivagamy defeated Aravinth and Rajesh pair by 6-2 to emerge champions of men's doubles category.
