National Cricket Academy, the unbeaten side of 6th division faced its first defeat as Appasamy CC's last wicket partnership of 23 runs helped them win the nail baiting match.
Batting first at PSGIMS A ground, National Sports School CA with the help of R Suresh Babu's ton scored 217 in the 49.3 overs. Suresh Babu has scored 4 centuries in his 5 innings in the sixth division league. But his ton in this match went in vain.
Chasing 218 runs, Appasamy Cricket Club lost their opener very early and the top order batsman Rajasekar took the responsibility in his shoulder and played a responsible knock of 70 runs to put Appasamy in a commendable position. After the set batsman got out, Appasamy CC batsmen were not comfortable and lost a couple of quick wickets.
