Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna MHSS and Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya MHSS have qualified to the finals of the district level inter school cricket tournament organised by Coimbatore District Cricket Association (CDCA) for 'Coimbatore United Round Table 186 Trophy' here on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna MHSS and Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya MHSS have qualified to the finals of the district level inter school cricket tournament organised by Coimbatore District Cricket Association (CDCA) for 'Coimbatore United Round Table 186 Trophy' here on Wednesday.
Starting from Monday, CDCA has been organising district level inter school cricket tournament for non-age group boys at PSG medical college grounds.
Among the participants, Sri Ramakrishna, Lisieux MHSS, RKS Kalvinilayam HSS and Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidhyalaya MHSS qualified to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals matches held today at PSG IMS 'C' grounds, Sri Ramakrishna played against Lisieux MHSS and defeated them by a mammoth difference of 135 runs to book their berth in the finals. K Sibiyenthal of Ramakrishna scored 100 and helped his team's victory.
In the second semi-finals match between Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidhyalaya and RKS Kalvinilayam, G Siddharth's five-wicket haul helped Sri Jayendra Saraswathi to bundle out RKS for 55 runs in the 19th over. In reply, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidhyalaya chased down the target in the 10th over to make its way into the finals.
Scores: Semi-Final 1: Sri Ramakrishna M.H.S.S 210/4 in 25 Overs (K.Sibiyenthal 100, G.Susheel 32, V.Sri Ram Ishwar 34) defeated Lisieux M.H.S.S 75 in 19.4 Overs (M.Imran Khan 3/17).
Semifinals 2: R.K.S Kalvinilayam H.S.S 55 in 18.4 Overs (G. Siddharth 5/11) lost to Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya M.H.S.S 56/3 in 9.5 Overs.
