Coimbatore: Department of Physical education of Nirmala College for Women hosted Bharathiar University Inter College Taekwondo Tournament at the College campus on Friday.
Coimbatore: Department of Physical education of Nirmala College for Women hosted Bharathiar University Inter College Taekwondo Tournament at the College campus on Friday.
Over 60 students from 12 colleges affiliated to Bharathiar University participated in the one-day tournament which was conducted under various weight categories- Under 46,49,53,57,62,67,73 and 73 and above Kilograms.
The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Helen, Principal of Nirmala College for Women along with Ruby Alangaramary, Secretary of Nirmala college for Women.
In the overall competition, Nirmala College for Women with 40 points emerged as overall champions of the tournament, while PSG CAS with 13 points secured second place in the tournament.
V Pramitha (PSGR Krishnammal College for women), S Prema (Nirmala College for women), S Dhanalakshmi (AVP CAS), S Vignisha (Bharathiar University), A.S Avathika (PSG CAS), S Spinithi (Nirmala College for women), S Kirubamathi (Nirmala College for women), R Mankayarkarasi (Nirmala college for women) emerged victorious in their respective categories and qualified to take part in the All India inter-university matches that is to be held at Patiala, Punjab.
