Coimbatore: PSG Polytechnic College will be hosting the Divisional Level Inter Polytechnic Cricket tournament organised by Inter Polytechnic Athletic Association at PSG college ground from December 16 onwards.
Coimbatore: PSG Polytechnic College will be hosting the Divisional Level Inter Polytechnic Cricket tournament organised by Inter Polytechnic Athletic Association at PSG college ground from December 16 onwards.
As many as 26 teams from Coimbatore division which comprises of Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris and Palani will be participating in the divisional level tournament conducted under knockout basis.
In the first day of the tournament, Sankara Polytechnic College defeated Suguna Polytechnic College in the first match (Raja Ram of Sankara Scalped 3 wickets) while PA Polytechnic College claimed its first win as they defeated Government Polytechnic college Coimbatore in the first encounter (Suriya of PA Polytechnic scored 72 runs).
In the third match of the tournament, RVS Polytechnic College and NIT clashed in which RVS sailed over NIT by 59 runs.
Winners of this tournament will take part in the state-level competition that is to be held later.
Scores: RVS Polytechnic College Scored 158 for 7 in 25 overs beat NIT 99 all out in 21 overs. (Sathish Kumar 39, Rajesh 3 wickets)
And, Government Polytechnic College scored 149 in 25 overs and lost to PA Polytechnic College 150 in 23 overs. (Suriya 72 and Kavin 32).
