Coimbatore: T Mayuri, First year MBA Student of SNS College of Technology here has claimed gold at the first Asian Yoga Championship 2019 organised by International Youth Yoga Federation at Foster International School, Bangkok, Thailand, recently.
Coimbatore: T Mayuri, First year MBA Student of SNS College of Technology here has claimed gold at the first Asian Yoga Championship 2019 organised by International Youth Yoga Federation at Foster International School, Bangkok, Thailand, recently.
Hailing from a humble family background, Mayuri is the daughter of G V Thirumurthy, who is working as a load man at Peelamedu Railway station. She has participated in the competition under 21-25 years category and showcased 'backward bending asanas' and secured gold with 146 points out of 150 in which over 800 participants from various countries took part in the competition.

Starting her Yoga Career at the age of 8, Mayuri has several medals behind her name. She was introduced to Yoga by Nagaraj, Yoga Teacher at her school.

She had won gold at inter-state yoga competition held in the city in October and won the Champion of Champions competition to qualify to the Asian Championship.

"I am very happy to win gold at Asian level competition. I am working harder to earn more medals at National and International competitions in future", said Mayuri.
