Coimbatore: Over 70 tennis players enthusiastically participated in the State Level Non Ranking Tennis Tournament 'Rising Star' at Levo Sports Complex here on Sunday.
Coimbatore: Over 70 tennis players enthusiastically participated in the State Level Non Ranking Tennis Tournament 'Rising Star' at Levo Sports Complex here on Sunday.
The tournament was organised by Levo Sports Complex in the city outskirts in which more than 70 students from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Mettupalayam, Coonoor, Erode and Karur vied for the trophy.
The tournament was conducted under various age categories - under 10 mini court, U8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and Men's singles.
Out of the 70 participants who took part in the competition, Jai Charan emerged champion under various age categories (Under 12, 14 and 16). He defeated Akil Babuji in under 12 finals by 6-0, Bala Surya by 6-4 in under 14 years and Likeeth in u-16 by 6-4 to emerge champion.
In under-8 years category, Ishaan Sudharshan sailed over Naren Mithran by 6-2 to claim the trophy in his category and in under 10 years finals, Skantha Nithi emerged winner, by defeating Bhavishnu by 6-2 in the finals.
In Men's Finals Saran Deepak defeated Bala Surya by 6-3 to emerge a winner. In under 10 years mini court, Red ball category, Naren Mithtan sealed Faadil by 15-8 to secure the top position.
Trophies and certificates were presented to the winners of the respective categories.
