Making the City proud, Shooters from Coimbatore are marking their presence at South Asian Games (SAG). A day before, Gaayathri from the city secured two golds in the 50mts Rifle 3 position in Women's category and now its Shri Nivetha claiming gold in the 10m air pistol individual event and team championship.

Shri Nivetha who is a member of Coimbatore Rifle Association has been consistently performing in 10m air pistol categories and has several golds behind her name has shot 238.4 points pushing Ferdous Ardina (234.6) of Bangladesh behind to claim gold in the individual event at 13th edition of SAG.

In the team event, teaming up with Esha Singh from Telangana and Annuraj Singh from Haryana scored 1733 points to secure gold in 10m air pistol team event.
With this achievement, Coimbatore athletes have bagged a total of 5 medals at the SAG. While Gaayathri N and Shri Nivetha P securing two golds each in shooting, City's Triple Jumper, Mohammad Salahuddin had clinched Silver on December 3.
