Coimbatore: State-level Basketball tournament for school boys for 45th edition of PSG Trophy by PSG Sarva Jana Higher Secondary School was kicked off at PSG Sarvajana School Basketball court in the city on Thursday.
Coimbatore: State-level Basketball tournament for school boys for 45th edition of PSG Trophy by PSG Sarva Jana Higher Secondary School was kicked off at PSG Sarvajana School Basketball court in the city on Thursday.
The four-day tournament is featuring around 26 teams from Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Thoothukudi, Dindigul, Salem and Tiruvarur and is being conducted under knockout and league basis.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by P. Narayanasamy, Secretary of PSG Sarva Jana Higher Secondary School.
In the first day of the tournament, Chavara Vidya Bhavan played against Valliappa Vidhiyalayam Matric School, Erode and defeated them by 34 points, difference as 51-17 to enter the second round of the tournament. While in another match City's Suburban Higher Secondary School defeated National Higher Secondary School from Tiruvarur by 65-34.
In yet another match between two City teams, Bharathi Matriculation and PSG Sarvajana 'B', Bharathi sailed over the host by 54-15 to make their mark in the opening game.
