Coimbatore: Students of Government Higher Secondary School from Muthalamada, Palakkad emerged as overall champions of the State-level Interschool Athletic meet for 'SNGPC' trophy hosted by Sri Narayana Guru Polytechnic College at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: Students of Government Higher Secondary School from Muthalamada, Palakkad emerged as overall champions of the State-level Interschool Athletic meet for 'SNGPC' trophy hosted by Sri Narayana Guru Polytechnic College at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.
Over 900 students from 60 schools including 10 schools from Kerala participated in the one-day Athletic meet. Various track and field events were conducted under various age categories- under 14,17 and 19 for both boys and girls.
P.M. Vasu, Secretary, SNGET along with R.P Ravichandran, District Sports and Youth Welfare officer inaugurated the event. Around 60 school participated in the tournament in which Government Higher Secondary School from Palakkad secured the first place in boys section and Avinasilingam Higher Secondary School in the city emerged winners in the girls' category.
Trophies and certificates were presented to the winners of the various event in the meet. Chief Guest P.M. Vasu along with DSO, Ravichandran presented the trophies and certificates to the winners.
