Coimbatore: Coimbatore students have bagged a total of six medals at the International Karate Championship for 'KL Mayor Cup' organised by Putrajaya Karate Association at Kuala Lumpur, recently.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore students have bagged a total of six medals at the International Karate Championship for 'KL Mayor Cup' organised by Putrajaya Karate Association at Kuala Lumpur, recently.
As many as 30 students from Tamil Nadu including six students from Coimbatore represented India in the Championship in which Coimbatore students bagged 1 silver and 5 bronze medals.
Thaarisha (Kikani School) bagged silver, while Vidyuth (CMC International School), Navaneethakrishnan (Suguna international School) Dev and Vishrutha (Yuva Bharathi Public School), Vanisha (Ksirs School), Deepthika ans Narashima (Maharishi Vidhya Mandir) all belonging from Fighter Club in Cobatore secured bronze medal and brought laurels to the city.

Parents and Members of the Karate Association welcomed the students on their arrival at the Cochin International Airport on Wednesday. Sensei Ramesh, Secretary and Coach congratulated the students on their arrival.
Over 600 participants from over 10 countries participated in the event.
