Coimbatore: The defending champions of Hero I- League are all set to start their campaign with a winning note as they clash against Newly promoted TRAU FC in their opening game at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here in the city on Sunday.

Though the defending champions lost a couple of their key players like Nestor, Edwin Sydney Vanspaul, they look confident against TRAU.

The team is looking forward for the performance of Katsumi Yasu (Japanese) and Fito Miranda (Spaniard) to replace the core foreign player Nestor and Edwin. Chennai City FC will depend on its captain and star of the previous season Pedro Manzi to strike.

Addressing the media, Akbar Nawas, Coach of CCFC stated that, "We will not take TRAU lightly as they are the champions of the second division and we have not seen them play. They might have analysed us by watching our previous games. Basically, the team from Manipur is always a tough team to play and looking forward for a competitive game tomorrow."

"Since I have watched the whole season of Hero I-League, we know their strength and weakness. Of course CCFC is a strong team and the momentum will be on their side, we are here to play football and our team has tough quality players. Hopefully, we'll have a good game tomorrow", said Douglas De Silva, TRAU coach.
