Coimbatore: Students of various schools in the city shine at the 62nd State level Republic Day Sports meet by bagging 28 medals in the overall meet held recently at Trichy.
Tamil Nadu School education department conducted State level Republic day sports meet at Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology at Trichy, in which over 1500 students from various school in the State participated.
Winners of Revenue District sports meet held in Coimbatote participated in the State level tournament and bagged 27 medals including, 8 Golds, 12 Silvers and 7 bronzes in the overall championship.
List of winners : Students of Sri Ramakrishna MHSS, S.M Sanjay (2 golds), R Chitaranjan ( 2 bronze and a silver), and team of S Harjith, M Sanjay, S Saran and B Anand secured Silver in 4*100 mts relay.
While Lalith Kumar of Gopal Naidu MHSS clinched gold in high jump. And, other winners in boys categories - K.N Vignesh (AVB MHSS), Vibul Niyas (Stanes A.I.H.S.S), K Akash (GRD CPF), K Aravindh (J.K Public school), G Dhanush Adhithiyan (Mahajan MHSS), Surya Prakash (Mani HSS), R Vishnu Prasad (PSG Sarvajana HSS), M Amrit (SBOA) and Jebakumar (SDAT) emerged victorious in their respective categories.
In the girls category, Divya Shree (Chavara MHSS), Keerthana and Padma Bharathi of Corp HSS, Rathinapuri, Anandhi ( Vivek Vidhyalaya MHSS), Devadharshini and Priyanka of PSGR Krishnammal, Olima stefty (Stanes A.I.M.H.S.S)and Sowmiya (KG HSS) were successful.
