Coimbatore: Students of International Silambam Federation (ISF) from the city have bagged 10 medals at National level Silambam Competition held at Kerala, recently.
Over 120 students from various states of the country took part in the championship held between November 23 - 24. As many as 42 students from Tamil Nadu Participated in the championship and secured 35 medals to emerge as overall Champions.
Of the 35 medals secured by team Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore students from ISF helped TN to secure the overall championship by bagging 10 medals including 6 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
Winners: C Akil Arav (GRD Public School), L.P Lishanth Sriram(GRG Matriculation School), S Sanjay (Navy Children School), S Neha (Navy Children School), Nithish Kumar (Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science), G Mugilan (GRD College of Arts and Science) clinched gold medal in their respective categories.
R Krishanth (GRD Public School) and P Thamizharasan (Vincent Matriculation School) bagged silver medal, while Lakshmi Priyadharshini of PSGR Krishnammal College of Arts and Science for women and Madhumitha of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science secured bronze in the championship.
Dr. Madhan S Raja, Chairman of ISF, Trainers Nandhakumar and Ravivarma congratulated the students for bringing laurels to the city.
