Coimbatore: In the boys category, PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School and Alvernia Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the girls category emerged as winners of District Level basketball tournament organised by Coimbatore ACME Ladies Circle 85 and Texcity Sports at CDBA court on Saturday.
Coimbatore: In the boys category, PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School and Alvernia Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the girls category emerged as winners of District Level basketball tournament organised by Coimbatore ACME Ladies Circle 85 and Texcity Sports at CDBA court on Saturday.
The six-day basketball tournament kicked off on Monday and featured over 30 teams from various schools and clubs in the city. The tournament was conducted for boys and girls, under 14 years of age.
Of the 32 teams that vied for the trophy, RKS, PSG Sarvajana, Bharathi and RLMHSS were the top four teams in the boys category and CCMA, Alvernia, Mallayan and Camford were the top four qualified for the semi finals, in the girls category.
In boys finals, PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School defeated RKS Higher Secondary School by 56-35 to lift the trophy, while in the girl's section, Alvernia Matriculation Higher secondary school sailed over Coimbatore Cotton Merchant Association school by 45-17 to emerge winners of the tournament.
The third and fourth place in boys category was secured by Bharathi Matriculation and RLMHS respectively and in girls, Mallayan and Camford secured third and fourth place respectively.
Tr.Vidhyadharan, Area 7 Chairman along with Coimbatore ACME ladies circle Chairperson Cr. Janani Venkat and Cr. Shivani Dalmia Area 7 Chairperson distributed the trophies and certificates to the winners of the tournament.
