Coimbatore: Over 2000 Students from 75 CBSE schools were part of the 42nd Athletic meet 'Saho Olympics 2019' organised by Coimbatore Sahodaya sports complex here on Wednesday.
Vasudevan Baskaran, Former Indian Hockey team captain along with Deepan Thangavelu, Vice President of Sree Sakthi international School inaugurated the Saho Olympics 2019 on Wednesday at the School.
Various athletic events like 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, long jump, high jump, hurdles, shotput will be held during the three-day event, a release said.
"Sports is a part of our life. Life is incomplete without sports. In the recent times, Coimbatore is doing better in sports", opined Baskaran, Former Indian Hockey team captain, the release noted.
In the first event for under 19 years boys category, Sanjay of Anagappa CBSE School secured gold, Rishi Varma of SSVM bagged Silver in 1500mts and in 800 mts for girls, Vedharshini of SSVM and Pooja Sri of Suguna PIPS emerged successful.
