Coimbatore: Over 100 students took part in the Revenue district level Tennikoit competition organised by Department of School education and hosted by CSI boys Higher Secondary School in the city on Saturday.
Coimbatore: Over 100 students took part in the Revenue district level Tennikoit competition organised by Department of School education and hosted by CSI boys Higher Secondary School in the city on Saturday.
Winners of eight zones in Coimbatore and three zones in Pollachi took part in the tournament held under various age categories- Under 14,17 and 19 for both boys and girls.
In the boys singles category, J. Praveen Krishna of Equitas Gurukul Matriculation School and P. Dhusyanth of Thambu Higher Secondary School secured top two positions in under 14 category. While in under 17, category, R. Rohit of ABC Matriculation Higher Secondary and M. Ashwin of Equitas Gurukul Matriculation School shared the podium and in under 19, A. Mohana Pragalathan of ABC MHSS and G. Surya of Thambu HSS won the first two places.
In boys doubles category, under 14 category, D. Pranesh, J. Deepak of Govt HSS, Sirumugai, D. Arun and S. Kannan of Government High School, Cinchona emerged winners. R. Rohit and A. Daniel Akash Paul of ABC MHSS and K. Aravinth and N. Bala Krishnan of J.K Public school won various positions in under 17 category. While, A. Mohana Pragalanthan and P. Subash of ABC MHSS and M. Karthikeyan and S.M. Vikram of SES MHSS emerged successful in under 19 category.
In girls category, V. Kaviya Sri (K.G.Girls HSS), P. Harini (Geethanjali MHSS), G. Abisri (K.G. Girls HSS), K. Kiruba Sri (Venkateswara High school), M. Fariza (Equitas Gurukul Matriculation School), M. Dharshini (K.G. Girls HSS), G. Priyadharshini, S.Jayapraba, K. Kaviya Varshini, J. Amala Sweety and J.Keerthana of Equitas Gurukul and M. Kaviya Sri and V.N Abinaya (SES Matriculation School) emerged victorious in the tournament.
The winners and runners of the tournament will take part in the state level competition by School education department which will be announced later this year.
