Coimbatore: Shooters from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore has bagged a total of nine medals including four gold at the All India Inter University Shooting Championship held at Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, New Delhi on Friday.

Ten shooters from various colleges in the city were selected to represent Bharathiar Univetsity at the All India Inter University shooting championship held at New Delhi between November 12-15. The team comprising of eight women and two men participated in the event

Over 1500 students from around 150 Universities across the nation participated in the event in which four shooters from the city brought home laurels by winning four medals.
In individual category, N.Gayathri of PSG College of Arts and Science secured silver medal in 50mts prone events and N. Nivetha of Vellalar College for Women secured Gold in Trap and Silver medal in double Trap event.
While in a team event, N. Gaayathri, G. Varsha (PSG CAS) and B.L.Sri Thava Thaniya of KCT Liberal Arts and Science College secured Gold medal in 50 mts Prone team event and N. Nivetha and N. Keerthana of Vellalar College for Women and P. Rashika of PSG CAS secured Silver in team trap event, adding 54 points and secured nine medals.
