Coimbatore: A first-year student of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Subrajaa Perumal has won the silver medal at the Open International Sport Aerobics and Fitness, Hip-Hop Championship 'Moscow Cup' held in Russia.
Among the 2232 participants, she was the only one from India to reach the final stages of the competition. In the category that she participated in, acrobats from Russia and the Czech Republic secured firtst and third positions respectively.

Following in the footsteps of her mother who grew up in an orphanage but was a gymnast in her school days, Subrajaa too displayed interest in gymnastics from a very young age. With the support of her mother who trains her for major events, Subrajaa's father who is an auto driver too is a pillar of support ever since she took up the sport. In spite of humble beginnings, Subrajaa never let her circumstances dictate her destiny. The entire community of PSGRKCW and her kin are gushing with pride after Subrajaa’s silver-medal winning performance in Russia.
