Coimbatore: S Srinivasan, the Managing Director of Aadhi Maruthi on Wednesday handed over a cheque of Rs. 60,000 to 58-year old athlete Ramasamy who works as a security guard at the Aadhi Maruthi showroom, Saravanampatti, in the city.

Following a news published in Simplicity, Aadhi Maruti's Managing Director sponored Ramasamy to take part in the 21st Asian Masters Athletics Championships to be held in Malaysia, this December.
Ramasamy, hailing from a humble family background in the city who has been an athlete for a very long time was selected to represent India at the Asian Masters Athletics championships. Despite his poor economic background, Ramasamy has brought many laurels to the city as an athlete. But owing to lack of funds, Ramasamy was unable to take part in the previous World Masters Championship. When Ramasamy was selected to represent India at the World Masters Athletic Championship in 2018 at Spain, his dream could not materialise due to lack of sponsorship. This time around, when Simplicity published the inspiring story of this athlete, Aadhi Maruti itself decided to extend its support to Ramasamy.
Likewise, Prashanth Ganesh, a Facebook-user who read the story of Ramasamy which had been published in Simplicity also came to the aid of this inspiring athlete and gifted a brand new shoe to Ramasamy, ahead of his participation in the Asian Masters Athletics Championships.

Aadhi Maruti's Managing Director, S Srinivasan along with Dinesh, HR Manager, Madubalan, Manager Spares and Chitrarasu, General Manager, Sales handed over the cheque to Ramasamy and wished him good luck for his participation in the Asian Masters Athletics Championships.
