PSG Sarvajana Higher Secondary School emerged champions at the District level Inter School Basketball tournament by defeating K K Naidu Memorial Higher Secondary School in the finals, at the CDBA basketball court near Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.

Texcity Sports Club along with the Chairman and members of Coimbatore Round Table 9 and Chairperson of Coimbatore Ladies Circle organised the a district level basketball tournament, which is the 29th Sugumaran Memorial Basketball Tournament for school boys and girls at the CDBA court.
About 26 school teams vied for the trophy in Boys and Girls categories. The tournament was conducted under a knockout basis in which K K Naidu, PSG Sarvajana, R K Sree Rangammal and Suburban Higher Secondary School were the top four teams in the Boys category.
In the finals, though K K Naidu were ahead of the championship in the first half of the match, PSG Sarvajana managed to take lead in the second half and seal the opponents by a difference of 11 points to lift the trophy. PSG Sarvajana defeated K K Naidu by 56-45.

In the Girls category, Alvernia Matriculation Higher Secondary School claimed the trophy defeating PSGR Krishnammal Higher Secondary School for Girls by 48-58, in the finals.
Vidhyadharan, Area Chairman, Round Table India 7 and Pradeep Rajappa, Area Vice Chairman, Round Table India 7 distributed prizes to the winners of the tournament.
