Coimbatore: The Bharathiar University Inter College Basketball tournament for men kick-started at Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science on Tuesday.
Over 30 Arts and Science colleges from Coimbatore, Pollachi, Erode, Gopi and Nilgiris are taking part in the two-day tournament which is being hosted by Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. S Palaniammal, Principal of Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science.
In the first match, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science defeated Kongu Arts and Science College from Erode by 17-24. While in another match, Kaypees College of Arts and Science sealed Erode Arts and Science College by 35-32 to march into the next round of the tournament.
Similarly, Gopi Arts and Science College defeated hosts Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science by 23-43 while Bharathiar University defeated Hindustan College of Arts and Science by 33-21 to qualify for the next round of the tournament.
