Coimbatore : The Revenue District level Athletic Competition by the Department of School Education is being hosted by the CSI Boys Higher Secondary School at Nehru Stadium, on Friday and Saturday. Over 1600 students, winners of 8 zones in Coimbatore and 3 zones in Pollachi took part in the meet held under four various age categories - Under 11,14,17 and 19, for both boys and girls.

Various track and field events for both boys and girls are being conducted at the two-day athletic championship. The winners of various events at this athletic meet will represent Coimbatore in the state level competitions.
On the first day of the Meet, M Roja (Long Jump), Sri Avinashilingam School, M Deepti Shri (Discuss throw), Forest Hill Academy, E Harshavardhini (Triple Jump), Chinmaya Vidhyalaya and P M Abhitha Shree (Javelin throw) from GRD were successful in the Girls category.
In the Boys category, J K Pushyanth (Discuss throw), GRD CPF, R Gokilan (Javelin throw), Government HSS, Othakalmandapam and Ribil Niyas (High Jump), Stanes AIHSS were successful in their respective categories.
Timothy Ravinder, Bishop of CSI Coimbatore diocese along with R Murugan, Chief Educational Officer inaugurated the Meet. Others present at the inauguration were Mercy Matilda, Revenue District Secretary and Charles Samraj, the Secretary of CSI Coimbatore diocese.
