Coimbatore : Dr. NGP College of Arts and Science emerged champions at the Bharathiar University 'A' zone volleyball tournament, defeating Bharathiar University in the finals by a scoreline of 2:0 at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology college premises, on Thursday.
Coimbatore : Dr. NGP College of Arts and Science emerged champions at the Bharathiar University 'A' zone volleyball tournament, defeating Bharathiar University in the finals by a scoreline of 2:0 at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology college premises, on Thursday.
About 20 college teams competed in the tournament which was conducted under a knockout basis. In the first semi-final match, Bharathiar University sealed Government Arts College, Gudalur by 2:0 to enter the finals while Dr. NGP defeated Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidhyalaya College of Arts and Science by 2:0 to book their spot in the finals.
In the finals of the tournament, Dr. NGP College of Arts and Science sailed over Bharathair University by 2:0 (25:17 and 25:11) to lift the trophy.
Dr. S Balusamy, Principal of KPR College of Arts and Science along with Thambidurai and Stalin, the Physical Directors of KPR College of Arts and Science awarded trophies and certificates to the winners of the tournament.
