CDCA Cricket League: Kabilan scalps five; Jolly Rovers CC register first win

Coimbatore: Kabilan's fifer helped Jolly Rovers Cricket Club to start the season in a winning note, as they defeated Tirupur Cricket Club convincingly by 110 runs in the TNCA CDCA first division league match held at PSG medical college ground on Saturday.

Playing the first match of the season, Jolly Rovers CC scored 234 runs in their 50 overs. Hari Raj of Jolly Rovers CC added 84 runs for his side. Defending a decent total, Kabilan bowled a brilliant spell of 5 for 32 to bundle out Tirupur CC for 124 in the 30th over.

Similarly in 5th division match held at PSG medical college ground 'C', Devil Strokers Cricket Club defeated Grand Dravid Cricket Academy by 7 wickets to register their first win of the season.

Scores: Ist division at PSGIMS ''A'' Jolly Rovers Cricket Club 234 in 49.5 Overs (B.Hari Raj 84, E.Mukesh 46, N.D. Hari Shankar 32, M.K.Rahul 3/69, G.Siddharth 3/37) defeated Tirpur C.C 124 in 29.1 Overs (S.Somasundram 50, Kabilan 5/32).

5th division at PSGIMS ''C'' : Grand Dravid C.A 185 in 47.3 Overs (G.Gokulnath 45, V.Vigneshwar 65, M.Naveen 4/31) lost to Devil Strokers C.C 189/3 in 31.2 Overs (M.Mohankumar 33, M.Sakthivel 82", K.Ramesh 46*).

Sri Shakthi "A" : Vasantham C.C 279/7 in 50 Overs (V.Manikandan 41, R.Saravanan 91, A.Arunkumar 51) defeated Kaleesswara C.C 90 in 32.5 Overs (K.Sridhar 4/24).

Sri Shakthi "B" : Srii Cricket Club 172 in 47.4 Overs (N.Antony Bernad 73, T.R.Venkatesa Babu 52, R.Ramki 3/29 ) Lost to Kongu Cricket Club 173/4 in 33.2 Overs(S.Dinesh Kumar 51, M.Anbu 75).
