Coimbatore: Sujith Kumar, the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore (Rural) met with athletes of the Genesis Sports Club on Wednesday and lauded them for securing third place in the 33rd Tamil Nadu State Junior Open Athletic Championship held at Sathyamangalam.

Athletes from the Genesis Sports Club in the city bagged a total of 13 medals in the State Junior Athletic Championship and secured third place in the overall competition. The first two places in the competition were secured by St. Joseph Sports Academy and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu.
City athletes have bagged a total of 13 medals comprising of 4 golds, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals in the overall championship which earned them the third place. Kiruthika, Krishnaveni, Pavithra, Karthi, Gokul, Nandhini, Sathishkumar, Manikandan, Abilash, Yuvasri, Padmabharathi, Vikashini and Visrutha were the medallists at the 33rd Tamil Nadu State Junior Open Athletic Championship.
Jesudoss, Patron, Babu, Joint Secretary, Vairavanathan, Coach/Secretary and Habeebur Rahman, PE teacher, Corporation Higher Secondary School, Rathinapuri were the others present at the meeting.
