Coimbatore: The Bharathiar University Inter College Kho kho tournament kick-started at the KG College of Arts and Science in the city, on Wednesday. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. R Ravichandran, Secretary of KG College of Arts and Science.

Over 40 college teams from Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode are taking part in the three-day tournament which is being conducted under a knockout and league basis. The top four teams from the knockout will play the league stage matches.
The best performers of the tournament will be selected to represent the Bharathiar University team in the Inter University Kho kho tournament to be held later.
In the first match of the tournament, KG College of Arts and Science defeated Sree Amman College of Arts and Science by 19-9 while Sankara went over Sri Ramakrishna Arts and Science College by 1 point.
In another match between Hindustan and Vidyasagar, Udumalpet, Vidyasagar annihilated the Hindustan College of Arts and Science by 16-2. Sri Krishna Adithya and KSG College of Arts and Science were the other two colleges successful on the first day of the tournament.
N Arjunan, Physical Director of KG College of Arts and Science organised the tournament.
