Coimbatore: On the occassion of the 61st anniversary of Coimbatore District Cricket Association (CDCA) which was celebrated today in the city, the winners of the Coimbatore district league matches were felicitated by Sudha Shah, BCCI National Selector (Women).
Chief guest Sudha Shah, a legend in the women cricket world, is the first ever woman to score a century for India.

Addressing a gathering at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science College here, Sudha shah praised CDCA for its efforts in building world class cricket ground in the city.
"Women's cricket is now gaining momentum. Unlike the past were girls were not allowed to play outdoor sports, these days, there are many young girls who have opted to take up sports as their career", opined Sudha Shah.
"Cricket taught me many things in my life. Hardwork, dedication, failure and acceptance are important qualities of sportsmanship", she added.
Following her speech, winners of all the five division teams in the district league and the best performed players of 2018-19 were presented with trophies and mementos.

Special awards were presented for the players of CDCA who represented the combined District & Tamilnadu State teams.
J Koushik, C Hari Nishanth, S Radhakrishnan and S Mohan Prasath were awarded for representing TN team to Vijay Hazare Trophy & Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ranji Trophy. And, N. Jagadeesan for representing Chennai Super Kings in the Indian premier league.
