Coimbatore: Sri Sakthi Institute of engineering and Technology (SIET) has won a golden double as they clinched the overall championship in both boys and girls categories in the Anna university zone IX athletic meet hosted by KPR Institute of engineering and Technology.
Coimbatore: Sri Sakthi Institute of engineering and Technology (SIET) has won a golden double as they clinched the overall championship in both boys and girls categories in the Anna university zone IX athletic meet hosted by KPR Institute of engineering and Technology.
Over 300 student athletes from 16 colleges took part in the two days athletic meet in which various track events like 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, 5000mts, long jump, high jump, discuss throw and shotput were held.

In women's category, Sri Sakthi Institute of engineering and Technology secured an overall point of 111 in the meet and emerged as champions.
Following SIET, PSG college of Technology with 93 overall points emerged as runner up.
The third and fourth place in the meet has gone to Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology with 37.5 points and KPR Institute of engineering and Technology with 22.5 points respectively.
Similarly in men's category, Sri Sakthi had control over the points table, leading 72 points ahead of Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology who scored 58.5 points. With huge overall points difference Sri Sakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology lifted the overall championship Trophy.
Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology with 40.5 points and the host KPR Institute of engineering and Technology with 37.5 points secured third and fourth place respectively.
Dr.K.Bommanna Raja along with physical directors, Thambidurai and Stalin distributed the trophies and certificates to the winners.
