Coimbatore : PKR Arts College for Women lifted the trophy at Bharathiar University's inter college hockey tournament hosted by Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS) in the city on Friday.
Coimbatore : PKR Arts College for Women lifted the trophy at Bharathiar University's inter college hockey tournament hosted by Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS) in the city on Friday.
Eight women teams from various colleges from Coimbatore, Erode and Gopichettipalayam took part in the tournament organized by Kumaraguru College of arts, science and research. Earlier, Dr. Vijila Kennedy, Principal of KCLAS inaugurated the tournament on Thursday.
The tournament was conducted under knockout and league basis in which PKR, Erode, Government Arts college, Gopichettipalayam, Bharathiar University and Navarasam Arts and Science college for women from Udumalpet qualified for the league stage matches held today.
Standing undefeated in the league stage matches held today, PKR college with three wins emerged champions of the tournament, while Government Arts college from Gopichettipalayam with one loss against the champions secured second place in the tournament.
The third and fourth place of the tournament was secured by Bharathiar University and Navarasam college for women.
Dr. Dhayalan, HOD, BBA, Kumaraguru College of Liberal arts and Science along with Ramakrishnan, Retd. Senior coach, SDAT presented trophies and certificates to the winners.
