Coimbatore : Nirmala College for Women achieved 60 points to emerge as the Overall Champions of Bharathiar University Inter College Power Lifting Championship for Women held on Friday.
Coimbatore : Nirmala College for Women achieved 60 points to emerge as the Overall Champions of Bharathiar University Inter College Power Lifting Championship for Women held on Friday.
Around 40 participants from 10 various colleges from Coimbatore, Erode and Tirupur took part in the Bharathiar University's Zonal Power Lifting Competition which was held at Nirmala College.
The participants representing Nirmala College achieved an overall 60 points and emerged winners, while PKR Arts College for Women, Gopichettipalayam secured 47 points and emerged as the runners of the championship.
The third and fourth places in the competition were secured by Erode Arts and Science college (43 points) and Kamalam College of Arts and Science, Anthiyur (34 points)
R.P Ravichandran, District Sports Officer, was the chief guest to the valedictory function and gave away the certificates and trophies to the winners of the tournament.
